After I became disabled, I started watching more television. In the daytime, I found C-SPAN and PBS interesting. I love politics and those are the only two television stations that are absolutely non-partisan(that I know of). I always wondered how people managed to get on C-SPAN. A few years ago, when I went on dialysis, I would watch C-SPAN for four hours. I was boiling hot because they only let Republicans call in(or so I thought). Then one morning I heard Brian Lamb, the host, explain patiently to a caller that they alternate calls between all parties. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. The reason they took more calls from Repuclicans was because the Democrats were too damn lazy to call in to C-SPAN. Anyway, I thought I had more important things to do, such as trying to stay as healthy as possible, and praying for a kidney transolant. Well, the LORD does work in mysterious ways. On December 29th,2006, I recieved a kidney transplant.
After watching how the national media almost totally ignored John Edwards when he finished second in Iowa,I decided: I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!! Saturday morning I called C-SPAN, for the first time ever. At 7:00 AM, I dialed the number. The line was busy. Every five minutes, I hit the redial button on my phone. On the third try, I got in! The nice lady asked my party affilation, my name, what city I was calling from, and when I called them last. She told me I would be up next. About three minutes later I was on national television. I spoke about why I thought John Edwards should be our next President. I railed about the nationial media's lack of coverage of John Edwards. I told the national audience that I had a personal story to tell about our healthcare system, and they could read about it on the John Edwards website. I'm new at this computer stuff. Will somebody call me and help me navigate the website?
The most important thing is,even if you do not have any money to give, you can flood the websites of all the newspapers, television stations, radio stations, and try calling C-SPAN.If the Democrats do this we will WIN IN NOVEMBER!!
