Congressman Price Will Vote “Yes” on Health Insurance Reform
Representative David Price (D-NC) today announced his support for the health insurance reform legislation that will come before the House of Representatives later this week. Rep. Price is the first member of congress from North Carolina to announce that he will back the legislation, lending more momentum to one of President Barack Obama’s top initiatives.
Kissell Announces $188 million in School Construction Bonds for North Carolina
Congressman Larry Kissell (NC-08) and the United States Departments of Treasury and Education have announced the allocation of $188 million in school construction bonds to North Carolina under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. These bonds can be used to finance the construction, rehabilitation or repair of public school facilities, or for the acquisition of land where schools will be built.
Perdue Announces 2010 North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey
Gov. Bev Perdue recently announced that the 2010 North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey is now available online at www.ncteachingconditions.org. Educators have until April 16, 2010 to complete the survey.
