Independent Poll Shows McHenry Weak in NC's 10th District

An independent poll released today by Public Policy Polling clearly demonstrates that the voters of North Carolina's 10th Congressional District are looking for a change in leadership in Washington. Respondents overwhelmingly reject the divisive leadership style that has been the hallmark of Patrick McHenry's tenure in Washington and express a strong disapproval of President Bush's performance, which McHenry has championed.

Patrick McHenry, despite being a two-term Republican incumbent in a conservative district and well-funded by special interests, fails to receive a plurality of support from the district. In fact, fifty-five percent of voters either disapprove or are unsure of Rep. McHenry's performance. This independent poll shows that the voters of the 10th District are sick and tired of the current administration's policies that have led to skyrocketing gas prices, an economy in recession, and inadequate care of our military men and women.

Daniel Johnson meanwhile is in striking distance of victory at only 11 points back with over four months until Election Day. The Daniel Johnson campaign is confident that once Daniel's message of courage and character is communicated to voters, McHenry will be fighting for his political life.
