Kissell Brings Us Back to $1.22 a Gallon

At least for a day...

Larry Kissell, the Democratic Nominee for Congress in North Carolina's 8th District, is all over TV news, news wires and political blogs this morning, after helping hundreds of struggling motorists on Father's Day with $1.22 per gallon gas, the price when Robin Hayes first took office. All indications point to one thing - this race is heating up, and will be the one to watch in November.

Just look what people were saying about the campagn at yesterday's event:

"This was a great Father's Day gift! What a great way to help people. I'm going to use this gas to get back and forth to work next week," said Jerry Barber of Ellerbee. Julia Little, a Biscoe native said she would also use this gas to get to work this week, "I can't tell you how much I appreciate this and what a wonderful thing Larry Kissell is doing."

Larry Kissell knows the people of this District need help, and will do all he can to improve the lives of working families both on the way to Washington and when he gets there.

When I did the very first gas event in 2006, at a time when gas was $2.89 per gallon, folks were just grateful for the opportunity to go on vacation or not have to dip into savings to get to work that week. Now that gas has hit nearly $4 a gallon, and this District has lost 62,000 jobs since Hayes took office, some people were taking the opportunity to gas up simply to be able to look for work and feed their families.

Now is the time to jump on board this race to take back our People's House. Please be generous and help Larry Kissell help people with a contribution to the campagn of any size.
