Pat McCrory is the only gubernatorial candidate in America campaigning with George Bush

RALEIGH -- As the AP reported this morning, George Bush is actively campaigning for only one candidate for governor this year: Pat McCrory.

"There are 11 governor races this year. Bush has been tapped to help only Pat McCrory, the GOP candidate in North Carolina." [AP, 8/15/08]

It’s no secret why – because Pat McCrory is one of George Bush’s closest allies when it comes to both politics and policy. McCrory supports President Bush’s private school voucher schemes, his opposition to stronger clean air standards, and his failed economic policies.

“It’s easy to see why Pat McCrory is the one candidate George Bush is campaigning with,” said NCDP Executive Director Caroline Valand. “If you want to know what kind of Governor Pat McCrory would be, just look at what kind of President George Bush has been.”
