Where Does Mark Robinson Stand On SB41?
Today, the Republican majority in the North Carolina House overrode Governor Cooper’s veto on a law that would take away law enforcement background checks and make North Carolina less safe from gun violence. But Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson has been silent.
Every single reporter in #NCPOL should be asking him: Do you stand with your party in support of SB41?
Gun violence has now become the leading cause of death among children in this country. We need leaders who will act, but Mark Robinson has a long history of putting his extreme views and the gun lobby ahead of the safety of North Carolinians:
-
Mark Robinson made a speech at the 2022 NRA convention in Texas just days after the Uvalde school shooting that killed 19 children and two adults and was serving as a member of the NRA’s national board of directors.
-
During a sermon last year, Robinson bragged about owning assault weapons less than a day after a shooter in Buffalo killed 10 people with an AR-15 rifle.
-
He opposes common-sense gun safety reforms like universal background checks and has repeatedly employed violent language and rhetoric.
