North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement on President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden’s visit to Fort Bragg, North Carolina today for an early Thanksgiving celebration with service members and military families as part of the Biden-Harris administration’s Joining Forces initiative:
“Thanksgiving is a time to say thanks and spend time with family and loved ones. As a military family, President Biden and First Lady Biden know firsthand how much service members and their families sacrifice to put it all on the line to protect our country.
“President Biden is committed to ensuring that every veteran receives the care and support they have earned. The recently passed Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will create millions of good jobs for veterans and grow opportunities for veteran-owned businesses. Joining Forces, the First Lady’s initiative to support veteran and military families, caregivers, and survivors, is addressing employment and entrepreneurship, military and veteran child education, and health and well-being for veteran families. And earlier this year, the First Lady also met with military and veteran families at Camp Lejeune to learn how the Biden-Harris administration can better support and prioritize their needs.
“North Carolina is proud to be the most military friendly state in the country. We’re grateful to President Biden and First Lady Biden for visiting Fort Bragg and for spending time with our service members and their families today.”
