Statement on Lara Trump’s Campaign Event in North Carolina
NCDP Communications Director Austin Cook issued the following statement in response to Lara Trump’s virtual “Pro-Life Voices for Trump” event in North Carolina this afternoon:
“To bill an event around a ‘pro-life’ theme on the day North Carolina hit a new high for coronavirus hospitalizations is as tone-deaf as we have come to expect from the Trump campaign. No matter how his team may try to frame their campaign events, Donald Trump can’t hide from his administration’s disastrous handling of the coronavirus crisis, which has cost our state hundreds of lives and hundreds of thousands of jobs. North Carolinians know that this crisis has been intensified by a complete lack of leadership in the White House, and in November they’ll have the opportunity to remedy it.”
