Trump Tells Charlotte He Loves North Carolina — But We’re Not Feeling the Love
In a speech to the Republican National Convention in Charlotte on Monday, Donald Trump told his masked audience exactly how he feels about the Tar Heel State:
With over 156,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, more than 2,500 deaths and rising unemployment, it’s safe to say that North Carolinians aren’t feeling the love right now.
NCDP Communications Director Austin Cook released the following statement:
“Donald Trump may care about North Carolina’s electoral votes, but he certainly doesn’t care about North Carolina’s families or the anxiety they’re feeling every day right now. If Trump really cared about North Carolina, our unemployment rate wouldn’t be this high; our frontline health workers would have the PPE and testing equipment they need; and our parents wouldn’t be struggling to make sure their kids can safely get the education they need. The president can make all the promises he wants, but he can’t fool the North Carolinians who are living through the consequences of his failures.”
