Today, North Carolina AFL-CIO President Marybe McMillan and Communications Workers Of American union member Timmia Wiley hosted a press conference calling out Congressman Budd for being the wrong choice for workers in the U.S. Senate race.
The press conference comes after a concerning report on the The Budd Group’s, Budd’s family company, pattern of workplace complaints, “including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, racial discrimination, and safety breaches.”

“As an executive, Ted Budd ran a company that failed its workers. As a congressman, he has consistently voted against the interests of working people. As a senator, we can expect more of the same. We can’t trust Ted Budd to do what’s right for working people,” said Marybe McMillan.
“My message to Ted Budd today is simple: this job is different from your family business. In Congress, you work for us. Your job is to deliver for your constituents. This November, North Carolinians will elect a pro-workers candidate in Cheri Beasley and make sure that everyone is able to live the American Dream,” said Timmia Wiley.
